HOW VICTORIAN WOMEN SHAPED COLOUR TECHNOLOGIES

THE COLOURFUL CREATIVES

In our major exhibition Colour Revolution, we explore some of the gendered conceptions around colour and tell a new story about the role that many Victorian women played in shaping new colour technologies.

Our latest story highlights three of these early Victorian pioneers, Anna Atkins, Sarah Acland and Loie Fuller, who experimented with cutting-edge photographic and light projection techniques.
